In 2021, the German Jordanian University (GJU) launched a Master's program in Humanitarian WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) to strengthen the capacity of national staff, with a focus on early-career professionals, and to localize WASH education within the humanitarian sector. The program is designed to provide participants with in-depth knowledge and practical skills to address critical humanitarian challenges effectively.
As part of a strategic approach to link the Humanitarian WASH program with larger capacity-building initiatives, GJU is organizing a short training course in the form of a webinar series.
The series is an integral part of the activities implemented and led by the GWN/GTO and GJU collaborative project, “Contribution of the WASH Network to strengthening and transforming humanitarian WASH coordination, capacities, and cooperation with other actors to achieve localized, gender-equitable, climate-sensitive, environmentally friendly, and complementary humanitarian WASH assistance.” This initiative not only enriches early-career professionals' expertise but also fosters a dynamic learning environment that bridges scientific knowledge with practical experience.
GJU, in collaboration with GWN/GTO and SuSanA, is hosting this webinar series to advance understanding of the Humanitarian-Development-Peace (HDP) triple nexus within the WASH sector and tackle interdisciplinary challenges in real-world contexts. understanding of the HDP. The goal is to establish a knowledge-sharing platform to explore the scope, challenges, and opportunities in implementing the triple nexus approach.
The webinar is co-hosted by the German WASH Network/German Toilet Organization, the German-Jordanian University, and SuSanA.
The series consists of two sessions:
